I like the fact that there is an option for immediate probe and a remote sensor with alarm function that alerts you if your request comes programmed cooking / temp. The pre-time on site. all that cooking is very simple roast steaks. Too bad it had been made in China. It was designed by a company in Portland, OR. I'd rather pay a little more for them for peace of mind, I'm not being poisoned. Even with the Chinese manufacturing industry, it is decent qualityseems quite robust (not durable enough to withstand being dropped, or wet). Overall, a decent meat thermometer with several objectives.
